Thought for Today
What is courage? Mark Twain said, “Courage is the mastery of fear, not the absence of fear.” A courageous person is not someone who is fearless. A courageous person is someone who is willing to face their fears and then do the right thing. It takes courage to follow Jesus Christ. Therefore, it’s necessary to cultivate and act with courage every day on our journey as disciples of Jesus.
Prayer for Today
Father, I know there are fears to face, temptations to withstand, and enemies to meet. Give me a courageous heart, that I may be firm in my obedience. Holy Spirit, help me to understand – “…not by might nor by power, but by the Spirt, says the Lord of Heaven’s armies.” Amen.
